Comfort Quilts
Every year, Guild members make many, many quilts to give to special causes.
These Comfort Quilts are donated for distribution to various nonprofits in the area.
Members can work on any of the various stages of quilting: tops, quilting, binding. We welcome quilts of any size,
but especially twin size. Finished work is displayed at the end of each meeting.
The guild can provide some fabric and batting. We also welcome donations of fabric and batting.
Members are welcome to take fabric for comfort quilts or personal projects, as long as a Comfort Quilt
comes back in return.
Quilts are distributed to various nonprofits in the area, especially Clarendon Early Childhood Ed. (they usually get
the juvenile quilts), Alternative House, and Lowell General Cancer Center. We have also been able to put a quilt
in each unit of a veteran's rehab in Dracut.
Especially fine work is sometimes offered to a nonprofit for a raffle or silent auction fundraiser.
Among those recipients are Greater Lowell Habitat for Humanity, Coalition for a Better Acre, Girls Inc. and
the Boys and Girls club.
Please direct questions and suggestions to Melinda Goodick.
