Two-Color Challenge

This year's challenge is to make a two-color quilt with one random color in addition to either black or white.

To participate in this challenge, come to the September meeting and draw a crayon from the box. (If you can't make it to the September meeting, please make arrangements with Valerie to obtain your crayon color.)

You can use any shade of that color and either black or white to create your quilt.

There is no minimum size for your quilt. The maximum size is a total measurement of the outside edges can be no greater than 144". (For example, a one-yard square quilt has four 36" sides. 4 x 36" equals 144")

Your quilt needs to be finished by for April meeting.

UFO Challenge

It's time to get those UFOs done!

This challenge is to motivate you to finish up your UnFinished Objects (UFOs)—projects that you have at least started cutting your fabric.

We will be having three prizes: one for the person who completes the most UFOs, one for the person who completes the oldest UFO, and a raffle drawing open to everyone who completes at least one UFO. (You will receive one entry for each UFO you complete.)

Rules for this challenge:

Only UFOs started BEFORE January 1, 2010 are eligible.
The quilt must be completed after the September meeting and before the April meeting. (The definition of completed means if it were a gift, it is ready to give. This includes quilting and binding, if applicable. No tops, no pinned on binding.)
You must show your completed UFO at a Show and Tell sometime during the year (up to and including the April meeting). You must identify that it is a completed UFO during the Show and Tell to receive the entry slip you need fill out to enter the challenge. There will be a special Show and Tell for finished UFOs at before meeting where there is not a scheduled Show and Tell (in case you have to give away your quilt before the next one.)
All UFOs must be your own. Please be honest and not enter a UFO that you bought at our show, our UFO auction or anywhere else.

All prizes will be awarded at the May meeting.

You do not have to sign up in advance to participate; you can enter any time you complete a UFO.

Remember, this is a great way to get those UFOs done and then they will be ready for our next quilt show!
